Lincoln Police find meth, machete inside man’s vehicle after pursuit

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested for possession of meth and a machete after a pursuit in northwest Lincoln, police say.

On Wednesday around 1:30 a.m., officers saw a Pontiac Bonneville driving without license plates near NW 12th Street and Interstate 80, according to Lincoln Police.  When officers attempted to pull over 44-year-old Terrence Turner, he fled.

Officers pursued Turner to the neighborhood near NW 22nd and W O Streets where he finally stopped, Lincoln Police say.  They then detained Turner and the 48-year-old female passenger.  Turner was a convicted felon and also had a suspended license.

Officers searched the vehicle and found open alcohol containers, a machete and a bag with methamphetamine residue, according to Lincoln Police.

Lincoln Police arrested Turner on suspicion of possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, possession of a controlled substance, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, driving under suspension, no proof of ownership and no proof of insurance.
