LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The University of Nebraska-Lincoln announced that it has ended the COVID-19 random mitigation testing program.

The decision was made due to low COVID-19 infection rates on campus, according to a press release.

In the last 14 days, 34 positive cases were reported on campus, according to the university’s COVID-19 dashboard.  The campus’ positivity rate last week was 1.36%.

The university could go back to random mitigation testing if COVID-19 cases increase in the community.

Students will still be able to get voluntary testing on campus.
