Vigil held for Lincoln woman who died in a car crash Saturday morning

Friends of 20-year old Jasmyn Chalk gathered to remember her after she tragically passed away Saturday morning in a car crash.
They say she was known for always having a smile on her face.
“She had a good spirit, she was always laughing and happy. She had a joyful heart and she spread it with others,” said Kena Kinnen.
Taylor Coffey has been one of Jasmyn’s best friends since the fourth grade.
She says Jasmyn was one of a kin, and a treasured friend.
“If she liked a song she would make me stay on the phone with her until she learned it. She kept me up all night learning Super Bass by Nicki Minaj,” said Coffey.
Thoughtful notes were etched into a tree close to where the crash took place near 27th and Fair streets.
And candles were lit up to spell Jasmyn’s name, for all to see.
“She always saw the positive in everything, the good in everybody. She was very happy all the time. I will, never ever forget her smile. Knowing her has been a very great honor,” said Javaen Pickens.
“She sent me the last text, I didn’t get to text her back. She told me how proud she was of me. I’d tell her that I’m proud of her too. She knows it but I’d like to say it back,” said Coffey.
Friends say what they will miss most about Jasmyn is her loving nature, her spunk and her positive attitude.
“She would do anything to make someone smile. Make them laugh, bring them out of a bad mood. The one thing I think everyone missed out on was her dance moves. Her favorite one was just this flop. It was entertaining, she was fun,” said Coffey.
A donation fund is being set up for Jasmyn. If you’re interested in donating to the family, send an email to InHonorJasmyn0427@yahoo.com.
