LPS graduates thousands of highschoolers over the weekend

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Southwest High School was one of several high schools that graduated students at Pinnacle Bank Arena this weekend.
Approximately 3,000 students graduated in total over the holiday weekend, according to Lincoln Public Schools’ Mindy Burbach.
With over three hundred students in the graduating class, students were beaming with excitement for the end of their high school careers.
Graduate Allison Woodard said she felt “blessed” for the opportunity to graduate and celebrate on Sunday.
” I have immense appreciation and blessings for being able to be born in a country where I have an education, so to have today to celebrate is such a staple to me,” said Woodard.
Another Lincoln Southwest grad, John Roth, said he’s planning on heading to UNL in the fall and is happy to have “made it through.”
“I’m super excited to be finished,” he said. “I’m loving it, going to UNL, life’s pretty good right now!”
Roth’s father, Brad, shared his excitement as well.
“I’m extremely excited about this,” said Roth. “This is my last child, getting the last one in college is great.”
