Storms bring hail, rain to eastern Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Severe weather arrived in eastern Nebraska on Tuesday night, bringing hail and rain.

More than 100 storm reports were made statewide on Tuesday. The vast majority were for hail.

In Lincoln, trees and power lines were downed by high winds.

A 71 mph wind gust was recorded near Ruskin, about 67 miles southwest of York.

York received about 0.86 of an inch of rain, and Aurora got about 0.85 of an inch. Lincoln had received less than half an inch as of 10 p.m.

Some street flooding was reported in Friend.

About 1,100 Lincoln Electric System customers were without power about 11 p.m., including 945 in the Waverly area.

Power was restored to all customers by 9:45 a.m. Wednesday.
