Woman crashes car into tree after robbing jogger, Lincoln Police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman crashed her car into a tree shortly after robbing a jogger Friday morning, Lincoln Police say.
Around 6:39 a.m., a jogger was struck in the back of the head by 19-year-old Avery Belgum near 35th and Apple Streets.
Belgum knocked the jogger to the ground and took her iPhone and Beats headphones, police say.
After Belgum drove off in a silver Jeep, the jogger waved down a bystander to call the police.
Shortly after the robbery, officers were sent to the area near 33rd and Q Streets after a Jeep crashed into a tree.
Officers then searched the area and found Belgum with the jogger’s phone and the keys to the Jeep, police say.
Belgum was arrested on suspicion of robbery.
