Annual Starry Nights Christmas Tree Festival continues Sunday

The People’s City Mission is putting on its annual Starry Nights festival this weekend.

The event has something for everyone, and it’s very affordable for an entire family to come out and have some fun!

“It’s five dollars a person and twenty dollars for the entire family, and all of the proceeds are going to feed the homeless so it doesn’t get any better than that,” said Pastor Tom Barber, CEO of the People’s City Mission.

There were live performances 23 beautifully decorated trees from local designers.

The event this year took place at the Speedway Sporting Village, right next to Defy Gravity.

“This is our 8th annual Starry Nights Festival! We’ve got pictures with Santa, we’ve got trees, 23 of them with over $1,000 of decorations on each one. We’ve got bounce houses and we’ve got craft stations where you can make ginger bread houses,” said Barber.

John McCarter says he has brought his family out to the event for many years to give back to such a wonderful cause.

“We love coming out and supporting this event because of all the great things that it does for the community and the support it gives for the People’s City Mission,” said McCarter.

Channel 8 is a proud sponsor for this event, which helps get the community in the Christmas spirit each November!

The festival runs through Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm, for more information, head to our website at pcmlincoln.org/starry-nights/.
