LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman was taken into custody Tuesday after she bit a police officer’s head and damaged two vehicles, Lincoln Police say.

Around 5:49 p.m., a caller told dispatch that a woman had just punched a passing Honda Civic near 9th Street and Cornhusker Highway.

When officers arrived, they found a woman who matched the description given by the caller.

Officers believed that she was intoxicated and told her she would be taken into protective custody.

Police say the woman then ran away, but officers eventually caught up and took her into custody.

While trying to get her into the police car, she spit in the face of two officers, according to police.

The woman then kicked the door out of alignment and bit an officer on the back of the head, police said.

Police say the officer did not require medical attention, but the bite did leave behind a visible mark.

She was cited on suspicion of assaulting an officer, criminal mischief, assault with bodily fluid, resisting arrest and obstructing a police officer.

Police said the woman left a dent in the trunk of the Honda Civic and caused around $500 in damage.

The police car had around $1,500 worth of damage, according to police.
