Bettor places $33,000 wager on Nebraska to defeat Northwestern in Ireland

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – One bettor is placing over $30,000 on the line for the Huskers’ Week 0 match in Dublin.

According to Hard Rock Sportsbook, the wagerer bet a total of $33,000 for Nebraska to beat Northwestern.

Nebraska is an 11-point favorite in the matchup, according to ESPN.

In addition, the Huskers have a 78.7% chance to win the season opener, according to ESPN’s Football Power Index.

Sports writer Darren Rovell says this bettor would win $6,933 if the Huskers leave Dublin with a W.

In last year’s matchup, the Huskers crushed the Wildcats 56-7.  That turned out to be Nebraska’s only conference win that year.

Northwestern and Nebraska finished the 2021 season tied for last place in the Big Ten with abysmal 3-9 records.

Those teams will hope to start their seasons off right in Saturday’s game at Aviva Stadium.
