Wicked run and wine stroll held in Seward to benefit children’s memorial

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Distance runners and wine drinkers alike gathered in Seward for a “wicked” run on Sunday.
The Wicked Women’s 5k Run took over the grounds of Junto Winery to benefit the Heartfelt Children’s Memorial.
“It’s a memorial kind of on the edge of Concordia Campus in Seward,” said Jana Hughes, a Heartfelt board member. “The funds for this will help support maintenance and insurance and things like that for the memorial”.
Runners could register as a group or individually for the 5k and could participate in the following “wine stroll,” where all proceeds would benefit the memorial.
The wine stroll spanned through the Junto gardens and winery where wine drinkers could enjoy samples and tastings from a variety of wines.
This event will mark the fifth year that Junto Wine and Heartfelt have collaborated for this cause and they hope to continue and reach out to more runners and wine enjoyers in the future.
