Remaining windy on Thursday
After a windy Wednesday, we can expect more of the same on Thursday. Sustained wind speeds will likely be between 20-30 mph during the afternoon, with gusts perhaps approaching 50 mph at times.
Relative humidities are also expected to remain very low. That will make for dangerous fire weather conditions once again. If any fires get going, the weather may contribute to rapid fire spread. A Red Flag Warning is in effect on Thursday afternoon and evening for all of central and eastern Nebraska.
Aside from the breezy conditions, temperatures will be fairly comfortable. We’re looking at high temperatures in the lower and middle-60s across the area, along with abundant sunshine.
Windy conditions appear to stick around at least through Friday. We should also warm into the 70s on Friday and Saturday. However, temperatures begin to fall by Sunday. We’re looking at 50s for highs by Monday and Tuesday of next week.
