WATCH: Would-be thieves topple ATM at Lincoln bank

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Police Department is asking for help identifying the three men who used a stolen pickup truck to try to break into an ATM.

About 4 a.m. Monday, the men tied an ATM at Westgate Bank near 17th and South Streets to the pickup.

The driver then stepped on the gas, sending the ATM crashing to the ground.

They were unable to get into the ATM, leaving it and the stolen truck behind after four minutes, but did cause more than $105,000 in damage, police said.

In another case Lincoln Police need your help with, a unique truck was used to steal a “pretty unique” trailer, Officer Rebecca Keller said.

On Oct. 16, two men stole a trailer worth more than $10,000 from an aviation business near 46th and Hartley Streets.

The trailer is used to carry aircraft propellers, and the Ford F-150 truck appears to be unable to go in reverse.

Surveillance video shows one of the men pushing the truck toward the trailer to attach it.

If you have a tip on either of these cases, call Lincoln Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
