Lane closure at north Lincoln bridge could cause traffic delays for Husker fans
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Husker fans, beware: A lane closure at North Antelope Valley Parkway could cause traffic delays before Saturday’s volleyball and football games.
The street will be reduced to two lanes between Saunders Avenue and Virginia Street, city officials say.
Lincoln Transportation and Utilities crews are inspecting the bridge, which was damaged by a fire.
City officials do not know when the street will fully reopen.
Nebraska will be playing Illinois at Memorial Stadium at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the volleyball team faces Maryland at home at 7:30 p.m.

Football traffic priority routes
- Interstate 80/Highway 77 (from west) – Take exit 397, follow Highway 77 south, take the Rosa Parks Way exit east, and follow 10th Street into downtown.
- Highway 77 (from south) – Take the Rosa Parks Way exit east, and follow 10th Street into downtown
- I-80/Cornhusker Highway (from east) – Take exit 409, follow Cornhusker Highway, turn south on State Fair Park Drive and continue west on Salt Creek Roadway.
- I-80/Interstate 180 – Take exit 401a, merge onto I-180 south, then merge onto Ninth Street. Expect delays using this route.
Volleyball traffic priority routes
- State Fair Park Drive/Salt Creek Roadway
- Northbound Antelope Valley Parkway to Military Road to Bob Devaney Sports Center
- 14th Street/Antelope Valley Parkway will have one lane open to traffic. Expect delays using this route.
