Settling into a quiet period Sunday
Temperatures snuck past freezing for a time on Saturday afternoon. As our colder day this weekend, we’ll enter a warming trend from here on. Gradual clearing will happen overnight, but until then, temperatures will slowly drop through the 20s for the next several hours. Winds will be calm before they shift to be southerly in time for Sunday.
Winds out of the southwest will help temperatures rebound to the lower and middle 40s. The sunshine will also return as we enter a quiet pattern through the middle of next week. Warmer and warmer by the day, temperatures potentially could make a run for the 50s, too, later on.
Looking further into the future, above average temperatures still look to settle in for some time. Temperatures in January are usually in the middle 30s, but we have a better chance of being warmer than the usual temperatures.
For now, I’ve kept 40s in the forecast for a majority of the next 10 days. We stay calm until our next system by Thursday, which could bring us both the chance to see rain first. then rain and snow.
