Fire at southeast Lincoln apartment caused $300,000 in damage, LFR says
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A malfunctioning heater sparked a fire at an under-construction apartment in southeast Lincoln early Saturday morning, officials say.
Lincoln Fire & Rescue spokeswoman Nancy Crist said Wednesday that crews arrived at the vacant apartment around 7:30 a.m.
When crews arrived, they found fire in the lower unit of the building, which then spread to the second floor.
Crews were at the apartment for about five hours, according to Crist.
The fire caused $250,000 in damage to the structure and another $50,000 to the building’s contents.
