City council will meet Monday on proposed annexation

LINCOLN, Neb (KLKN) – The city council is expected to meet on the proposed annexation of a 445-acre area between 70th and 84th streets and Yankee Hill and Pine Lake.

A hearing was held last Monday where several people spoke out about the annexation.

Some property owners say it’s unnecessary and don’t want it to happen.

The city said it’s necessary for equity among taxpayers and to be able to provide them with more city services.

A vote is expected at tomorrow’s meeting at 5:30.
