Grand Island man kicked and broke wife’s leg, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Grand Island Police say a man was arrested after he broke his wife’s leg on Sunday night.

Officers were called to the CHI Health St. Francis emergency room just before midnight on a report of a domestic assault.

A woman who had been admitted told police that she and her husband had an argument at their home.

During the argument, the man kicked down on her left shin, according to police.

The kick fractured the woman’s fibula and tibia, and officers said her leg was visibly deformed.

Hospital staff also told police that the woman’s injuries would require immediate surgery.

Police later found the husband and arrested him on suspicion of first-degree domestic assault.
