StarTran to support domestic abuse victims with ‘Stuff the Bus’ donation event

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — StarTran is hosting a “Stuff the Bus” event in support of domestic abuse victims in Lincoln.

The bus service will take donations during the event on April 15 and 16 and give them to Friendship Home.

Friendship Home is a Lincoln-based organization that provides a secure shelter and crisis services for victims and their families.

Donations will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Buses will be parked at four locations around town, including:

• Walmart and Sam’s Club stores at 27th and Superior Streets and 87th Street and Highway 2
• Walmart stores at 84th and Adams Streets and 27th Street and Grainger Parkway

City officials are asking people to donate cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, baskets, bath towels, kitchenware and nonperishable food.

Cash and gift card donations will also be accepted.
