Car crashes into pond while fleeing from police

A police pursuit ends with a car in a pond.
It happened near the archway in Kearney.
The chase began around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, when a state trooper tried to stop a driver going 100 miles per hour on Interstate 80.
The man driving did not stop the car.
The chase ended when the driver drove his car into a pond and then ran. After a short search, he was located and taken into custody.
“Well, with the help of the Kearney Police Department and the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office and additional troops in the area, we conducted a perimeter. We also had around our K9 division from not only the State Patrol, but the Kearney Police Department in addition to our Nebraska State Patrol air wing,” says Sgt. Dean Riedel, Nebraska State Patrol.
The suspect’s name has not been released.
No one was hurt in the incident.
