Cooler and breezy with a spotty shower chance

The thunderstorms from Wednesday night have since pushed to the east. All that remains are lingering showers in central Nebraska as of early Wednesday morning.

These scattered showers will move east as the day progresses. We can’t rule out a spotty shower or two during the morning across southeast Nebraska. However, these probably won’t add too much to rain totals.

Stormcast Thursday Morning

While much of the morning is dominated by cloud cover, we should see more peeks of sun through the afternoon. Even so, there could be a few more spotty showers by late afternoon and evening. These will be hit-or-miss, and you might even hear a rumble of thunder or two. These will fizzle out after sunset.

Stormcast Thursday Evening

Thursday is shaping up to be a cooler day as well. We’re forecasting high temperatures in the upper-50s to low-60s across the area.

Thursday Forecast

You will also notice the windy conditions. Northwest winds will be sustained anywhere from 15-27 mph through the day, with some gusts pushing 40 mph. Winds will back off on Thursday night, before ramping back up on Friday.

Stormcast Wind Gusts

We’ll get a little bit cooler on Friday and Saturday with highs in the 50s, but we do trend drier. Our coolest point on the 10-Day Outlook is Sunday morning, where our forecast low of 25° would break the record low of 26° set in 1996.
