LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A celebration of life service has been scheduled for the man killed in an explosion at a Nebraska ethanol plant earlier this month.

The obituary for Jody Norgaard says it will be held in Grand Island on Tuesday, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Third City Christian Church is holding the ceremony, as well as Monday’s visitation, which goes from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Norgaard leaves behind a wife, six children and two grandkids.

His obituary states, “As an Operations Manager at the Green Plains Ethanol Plant in Wood River he was a devoted leader and truly respected and cared for every member of his crew. Jody loved taking care of others, helping in any way he could and you’d never hear him complain. He would drop everything whenever someone needed him. Helping others brought him so much joy.”

People can send flowers using this link.  A burial will take place at Grand Island Cemetery.
