Nebraska trooper rescues two ducks, chicken in a ‘fowl mood’ near Waverly
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A trooper saved three fowl fellows who fell onto Interstate 80 on Monday.
The Nebraska State Patrol says it got a call after someone saw a kennel fly off a pickup truck on I-80 near Waverly.
A trooper checked the kennel and found a couple of ducks and a chicken inside. The patrol says the kennel didn’t open during the fall, so the birds hadn’t “flown the coop.”
The three birds survived the fall, but the patrol says they were “in a fowl mood” about what happened.
They were taken to the Capitol Humane Society in Lincoln for further care.
