Update: Police say Creighton Med. Center gunman has died

Omaha police report the gunman involved in Wednesday morning's shooting at Creighton University Medical Center has died.
OPD says 39-year-old Jeffrey Layten was acting suspicious when police were called, in the east lobby of Creighton Medical Center.
They say when they asked him to put his hands up, he fired at them, hitting one in the thigh, the other in the foot. The officers fired back, hitting Layten, who died a few hours later. The police officers were treated and released at the scene for minor injuries.
Police say it all started the night before, Burt County Sheriff's deputies were called to Layten's home in Tekamah after they got a call on domestic assault.
The sheriff says Layten left his home with 3 guns. He later crashed his pick up during the manhunt and pursuit. Police are still looking into why the suspect was at the hospital.
The hospital was put on lockdown for a short time. No one else was injured. Layten told loved-one he had suicidal thoughts and made some calls to relatives before the shooting.
