Lancaster County man threatened roommate with kitchen knife, deputy says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Wednesday after he threatened his roommate with a knife, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says.

Around 3 a.m., deputies were sent to a home near 148th and O Streets on a report of a knife fight.

Houchin said Luke Russell had come home after drinking and began pounding on his roommate’s door.

Russell then destroyed some of his roommate’s property, including a 75-inch TV and a PlayStation.  He caused about $1,000 in damage, Houchin said.

Later on, Russell – who was armed with a kitchen knife – told the victim to come out of his room.

The roommate grabbed a Taser to defend himself, according to Houchin.

When deputies arrived, they found Russell on the back porch and took him into custody.

A knife was found nearby, Houchin said.

Russell was arrested on suspicion of terroristic threats and using a weapon to commit a felony.  He was also cited on suspicion of criminal mischief.
