Man called police after stabbing tire, cutting woman in Lincoln, authorities say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A knife-wielding man claimed he was being threatened by a group before officers arrested him Thursday, police say.

Around 2:10 a.m., 33-year-old Conley Webb III called police and said he was being chased by a group of five people near 24th and M Streets.

Webb also told police that he had a knife on him.

Officers later spoke with the group, who said they were standing near a vehicle when Webb started calling them names.

Police said Webb was upset because he thought the group was being too loud.

Eventually, Webb pulled out a knife and stabbed one of the vehicle’s tires, according to police.

A witness reported that Webb then cut a 19-year-old woman’s neck.  Police said she had a “superficial” cut on the right side of her neck.

Officers arrested Webb on suspicion of second-degree assault, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony and possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person.

He was also cited on suspicion of criminal mischief.  Police said the vehicle had $500 in damage.
