Parts of 48th, 70th streets in Lincoln to close on Wednesday

Road Work

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Drivers in east Lincoln may see some delays Wednesday, as projects will shut down two streets.

City officials said 70th Street from Pine Lake Road to Badger Drive will close to add turns lanes for a private development.

That work is scheduled to be finished by Thursday, and the city recommends that drivers take Pine Lake to 56th Street to Yankee Hill Road as a detour.

Crews will shut down 48th Street from Briarpark Drive to Nebraska Parkway for the next phase of the Lincoln on the Move street improvement project.

Officials said the road will reopen by Aug. 18.  Improvements to the road include repairing, removing and replacing pavement.

Lincoln on the Move is investing millions of dollars into street projects across Lincoln.

More information can be found on the city’s website.
