‘Kia Boyz’ may have a harder time stealing cars in Lincoln with free LPD offer
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Police Department is offering free protection as “Kia Boyz” target Hyundai and Kia owners nationwide.
It has steering wheel locks available on a first-come, first-served basis.
To qualify, you must bring a valid vehicle registration certificate to prove that you own a Hyundai or Kia.
Last summer, LPD blamed “Kia Boyz” for a rash of vehicle thefts.
It’s part of a TikTok challenge that’s inspired teens to steal cars across the country.
