I-80 eastbound back open after semi crash in Seward County

UPDATE, 8:35 a.m. — The Seward County Sheriff’s Office says I-80 eastbound is back open after a semi went off the road. No word on what caused the crash or if there were any injuries.

UPDATE, 7:20 a.m. — Channel 8 has new photos from the scene, showing a semi went off the road.

Part of the trailer remains on I-80, blocking at least one lane.

The roads were saturated by Friday morning’s rain, but right now it’s not clear if that played a role in this wreck.

You can also see the median looks especially muddy.

Right now it’s not clear if anyone was hurt in this accident, or how long it might take to clear.

SEWARD COUNTY, Neb. (KLKN) — Eastbound Interstate-80 is shut down near Milford, according to the Seward County Sheriff’s Office. The agency says a crash near mile marker 382 is to blame.

Details are limited at this time, but a Nebraska 511 camera shows traffic being diverted at the Milford exit as of 6:45 a.m.

This comes a day after I-80 was shut down for several hours west of the NW 48th St. exit in Lincoln due to a semi crashing into a cattle truck.

This is a developing story and we will provide more details as we receive them.
