CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Lightning strikes Nebraska grain elevator, injures six

SHELBY, Neb. (KLKN) – A lightning strike sent six people to the hospital in rural Polk County on Friday morning.

Crews responded to the east Central Valley Ag elevator in Shelby, which is about 20 miles south of Columbus, on a report of a lightning strike.

Shelby Fire Chief Jon Eller said the lightning appeared to strike a new elevator being built.

Six employees from McPherson Concrete were transported to a hospital in Osceola with non-life-threatening injuries.
