Lincoln One Mile Road Race hosted in Downtown

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Track Club partnered with the Lincoln Racing Company to host a one mile road race throughout downtown.

The race was encouraged for kids of all ages and had different heats for the age groups.

The race is sponsored annually and something that runners look forward to each year.

“To do a 10k or a 5k. People usually just go out and run but there are people who really actually seriously train for this and have a lot of fun doing it.” Said Director Ann Ringlein. “They end up doing really well and accomplishing their goals is a big thing.”

The event wrapped up with an elite heat in both the men’s and women’s divisions.

Noah Rasmussen won the Men’s heat and Hanna Hegemann Berens brought home the title for the women’s.
