Powerball jackpot rises to $1 billion after no winning ticket sold Monday
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Powerball jackpot rose once again after no winning ticket was sold on Monday.
It’s grown to an estimated $1 billion, the third-biggest jackpot in U.S. history.
Ticket buyers will have a chance at $1 billion paid out in yearly increments or a $516 million one-time lump sum, both before taxes.
The game’s terrible 1 in 292.2 million odds are designed to build big prizes that draw more players. The largest Powerball jackpot was $2.04 billion last November.
Powerball drawings are broadcasted every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Drawings are also livestreamed on Powerball.com.
