Cool with storm chances
Storms are possible tonight, especially for the western half of the state. Eastern Nebraska may see storms, but the threat for severe storms are smaller than out west. Temperatures will be cool the next few days but we warm up quite a bit by next week.
There is a Marginal to Slight Risk for severe storms tonight, especially for central and parts of western Nebraska. A cold front will push through from west to east and will try to bring storms with it. By the time it gets into eastern Nebraska, there will be an area of stable air in the way, so severe storms are not as likely.
Hail will be the main issue with storms that do form. 2″ diameter hail is a possibility in SW Nebraska.
Gusty winds will be a possibility, as well. Damaging wind may happen with any of the storms that get going.
Moving ahead to Thursday, it will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy and mild. Highs will be in the lower and middle 80s. There is a chance for some showers and storms in central and western Nebraska, as well.
Most of the day in Lincoln will be sunny, but clouds roll in by the afternoon as storm push into the western half of the state.
