Tails and Tees golf tournament benefits Capital Humane Society
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Capital Humane Society hosted its Tails and Tees golf tournament on Friday at Highlands Golf Course.
It’s the biggest fundraiser for the humane society, and all the proceeds go to help animals in the shelter.
It was also the largest turnout for the organization.
Thirty-six teams participated in the tournament, and tickets were $500 per team.
With that many teams, plus the corporate sponsors, the humane society is expecting to bring in lots of money.
“This year we’re expecting to raise over $30,000,” Executive Director Matt Madcharo said. “Might end up somewhere between $32,000, $35,000 when it’s all said and done.”
The money will go toward microchipping all of the dogs the shelter receives this year.
Some of the dogs up for adoption were at the tournament, so golfers got to see some of the furry friends they were helping.
