Man jumped out before crashing stolen car into Lincoln apartment building, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An Omaha man jumped out of a stolen vehicle before it crashed into a Lincoln apartment building Saturday, police say.

The crash happened at the Flats on Vine apartment complex near 25th and Vine streets.

Police said 21-year-old Dearies Bogan was heading north at around 45 mph when he jumped from the vehicle before it hit the building.

Later on, officers found Bogan – who had minor injuries – nearby.  A witness identified Bogan, and officers took him into custody.

He was arrested on suspicion of theft by receiving stolen property.  Police estimate the building has $15,000 in damage.
