Lancaster County deputies find 88 pounds of cocaine in semitrailer in north Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Thursday after Lancaster County deputies found 88 pounds of cocaine in a semitrailer-truck, authorities say.
Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said Monday that the criminal interdiction task force pulled over a semi on Interstate 80 near the Lincoln Airport.
The semi, driven by 63-year-old Arailde Matos of Las Vegas, was seen crossing the fog line several times, according to Houchin.
After an investigation, authorities searched the semi and found 88 pounds of cocaine inside. Over $80,000 in cash was also found wrapped in cellophane.
“This is a very large load of cocaine, not a lot of times do we get that amount,” Houchin said.
Matos was arrested on suspicion of possessing cocaine with intent to deliver.
