Gunshots repeatedly heard in Lincoln neighborhood, even after officers arrived

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — At least eight gunshots were heard in a Lincoln neighborhood on Wednesday, where they continued even after officers arrived.

The Lincoln Police Department said the first report came in just before 5 a.m.

Someone living near 20th and Washington streets heard four gunshots at that point.

Officers were sent to the area, and they counted four more gunshots.

Despite searching the area, officers couldn’t tell where the shots were coming from.

They also didn’t find any victims, damage or spent casings.

LPD said this is an ongoing investigation.
