Nebraska troopers find 61 pounds of meth in traffic stop near Giltner

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two Illinois men were arrested Thursday after Nebraska troopers found over 60 pounds of meth in a vehicle on Interstate 80.

Around 9:45 a.m., a trooper pulled over a Toyota Camry that was following a vehicle too closely near Giltner, the Nebraska State Patrol said.

During the traffic stop, the trooper became suspicious of criminal activity.  Shortly after, a dog smelled drugs in the car.

Inside, troopers found a gun and 61 pounds of meth in bins, the patrol said.

Juan Martinez Arroyo, 21, and Edwin Correra Miranda, 25, were both arrested on suspicion of several charges, including possession of meth.

They were lodged in the Hamilton County Jail.
