Bikers from all across the state gathered to raise awareness for road safety

Bikers from all across the state met outside of the Capitol steps to hold a vigil for bikers everywhere you have lost their lives while riding their motorcycles.
“It’s important that people start realizing that bikes they’ve should be seen not heard,” Glenn Shirner the event organizer said.
The message these bikers want to give to everyone on the roads.
Is for drivers everywhere to be aware at all times when at the wheel.
“All of these people are here today because they want drivers to put away distractions and look for them,” Shirner said.
For a lot of these people, they are remembering someone they love who lost their life.
And the organizers say it’s time to change that today.
“they’re just kind of tired going to the funeral they’re tired of picking up the paper and reading another motorcyclist is dead because someone made a left turn out in front of them so we all are asking for people to put away the distractions and look out for bikes,” Shirner said.
For these organizers, it’s important that they show to everyone that these bikers are just everyday people trying to do what they love.
“What I would like people to know is that bikes are people too, and we are mothers, and fathers, and sisters, and brother and every life is important. Every life is valuable,” Tony Ceraolo a Nebraska Motorcyclist said.
A lot of the people who attended told me that they hope that everyone can learn to have better awareness while on the roads to help protect everyone.
