Lincoln Christian breaks through in defensive battle with Platteview

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – In a Class C showdown, the Crusaders of Lincoln Christian were looking to even their record Friday night against Platteview.

It was a defensive battle in the first half, but in the end, the Crusaders marched to a 20-13 victory.

In the first quarter, Platteview quarterback Owen Stehlick fired a shot down the field to Brady Davis, but the ball was batted around and picked off by Jamison Thies.

It was still scoreless in the second quarter as Platteview tried to drive down the field.

Stehlick looked to pass, but the pocket collapsed, and he was thrown down by Max Emanuel for the sack.

With the Crusaders on offense, Truman Paulson wound up and launched the ball down the sideline to Dane Omel, who hauled it in for a big gain.

The game was 0-0 at halftime before the offenses broke through.
