Seward Blue Jays avoid the thunder and beat Lincoln Pius X

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Pius X hosted Seward at Aldrich Field on Friday night.

Seward soared to victory in the second half 20-13.

Tied in the third quarter, Pius was at the 2-yard line. Brett Voss took the handoff and plowed into the end zone to make it 13-6 Thunderbolts.

Later that quarter, Seward pulled out a trick play. Quarterback Tresten Hess pitched it to running back Henry Lewis, who then fired a deep pass to Conner Matzke, who got behind the defense and flew down the field for a TD.

That tied the game, and Seward would tack on 7 more to win.
