Hot holiday with relief around the corner
Over the past weekend, Lincoln managed to record the exact same high temperature for Saturday and Sunday. Plenty of sunshine and no big changes to our current weather pattern will lead to a similar day on Labor Day.
It’ll be a breezy holiday, but that will be one of the other things that ushers in another day of hot weather. Winds will be out of the south, gusting upwards of 25 mph under sunny skies.
Temperatures will efficiently warm through the morning, likely seeing the 90s before lunchtime. Those who saw triple-digit heat through the weekend, namely Hebron and areas close to Kansas, have a good shot at those temperatures again today.
After another day right around 98° for Labor Day, we’ll see relief slide through the state on Tuesday. A cold front won’t reach us until late Tuesday, but we look to stay cool for a while. Because of that front, there’s a spot chance to see light showers mainly to our west and north. We should see temperatures drop by at least 10°, too!
The western half of the state will see relief first. The Panhandle by Tuesday afternoon may barely see temperatures in the 70s. Back here at home, we’ll be pushing for the middle 90s, but the front should arrive by late Tuesday.
Looks to be a great day to hit up a lake, with another day of upper 90s in the forecast. Above all, we hope you and yours have a safe, fun holiday!
