Man beat neighbor at Grand Island apartments with a pipe, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Two men were arrested Monday at a Nebraska apartment complex after a fight involving a metal pipe and a gun.
Grand Island Police were called to the apartments near West Faidley Avenue and Kennedy Drive around 6 p.m.
Police said this started when Michael Tanner attacked his neighbor James Chastain with a pipe.
Tanner said Chastain responded by grabbing what appeared to be a rifle and threatening to shoot him.
Tanner told officers he feared for his life.
Chastain had severe swelling on his face, along with bruising and cuts, according to the Grand Island Police Department.
GIPD said Chastain admitted to using a pellet gun to intimidate Tanner after the attack.
Both were taken into custody on multiple charges, including use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
