Beatrice Orangemen get first win of the season through rain and resilience
BEATRICE, Neb. (KLKN) – Despite turnovers, the Beatrice Orangemen pulled out their first win of the season at home against Lincoln Northwest.
Rain was coming down throughout the entire game, but both teams were not afraid to call plays through the air.
Beatrice would go on to win 27-20 over Lincoln Northwest. The Orangemen will play Plattsmouth on the road next week.
As for Lincoln Northwest, the Falcons will continue to look for their first win against Gretna East on Friday.
The first quarter featured the Falcons scoring two touchdowns, including a lob from quarterback Dylan Kotik to Zander Goering as he laid out for the ball in the endzone.
On the final drive of the first half, Beatrice QB Crew Meints scrambled and connected with an open Trey Henning in the endzone for six points.
However, a missed extra point on the next play left Beatrice down 14-13.
