Several Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews respond to fire at UNL dining hall

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews responded to a fire at a dining hall at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on Tuesday.

In a post on social media, officials said the fire was reported at the Harper Schramm Smith Dining Center north of campus around 5 p.m.

LFR spokeswoman MJ Lierman said crews put out a fire in the basement.  Additional firefighters were called in as a precaution.

Around 5:40 p.m., a Channel 8 reporter saw firefighters packing up their hoses.

It is unknown what caused the fire.
