‘I hope it’s a messy, ugly day’: Rhule isn’t afraid of rain at Louisiana Tech game

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule won’t let rain damper Husker fans’ spirits during Saturday’s game against Louisiana Tech.

There is a chance for severe storms in eastern Nebraska in the midafternoon, according to Channel 8’s Rusty Dawkins.

Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

In case of a downpour, the Huskers are preparing with wet ball drills in practice, Rhule said Thursday.

“I hope it’s a messy, ugly day because it gives us a chance to overcome, show what we can do,” he said.

Husker fans will come far and wide for a game in Memorial Stadium, no matter the weather.

And, even if it’s raining cats and dogs, Rhule said there’s no excuse for not playing Nebraska football.

“They can’t come and have us bumble the ball around because it’s wet,” he said.
