Man arrested after hours-long standoff with SWAT team at Lincoln home, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Tuesday after a standoff with the SWAT team at a Lincoln home, police say.
Around 6:15 p.m., investigators were in the area of 12th and F streets looking for 29-year-old Treyvon McKinzie.
Police said McKinzie had run from a traffic stop and discarded a stolen handgun on Sept. 20.
As investigators approached McKinzie, he ran inside his home and refused to come out, according to police.
Officers called in the SWAT team to help in the standoff.
Just after 9 p.m., McKinzie came out and was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen firearm.
