Small Businesses Saturday in Lincoln

The Saturday after Thanksgiving has been coined Small Business Saturday for the last eight years, to promote all of the Small Business across the country.

It’s a day where stores have their own special sales to promote their businesses and compete with the big box stores.

“It’s hard we can’t compete with the big box stores, but we can try to offer the best quality things, and product brands that we have. We know our customers we know their sizes we know their names we know who they are buying for so we can help them give them that personal shopping experience,” Jane Stricker the Owner of Footloose and Fancy said.

The state of Nebraska alone has nearly 173,000 small businesses, which causes a lot of competition for stores.

But Small Businesses Saturday isn’t just about competing it’s about celebrating their customers.

“It’s a day to love on our customers who throughout the year show up day after day after day supporting us,” Rebecca Barnes the Owner of Circle Me Children’s Boutique said.
