LFR extinguishes grass fire at north Lincoln homeless camp

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Firefighters put out a blaze at a north Lincoln homeless camp Thursday night.

Just after 6 p.m., Lincoln Fire & Rescue responded to reports of a grass fire near 27th and Superior Streets.

Firefighters found a tent and surrounding grass on fire just north of the Salt Creek, according to LFR.

They extinguished the blaze quickly, LFR said.

One person was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, an official said.

The fire was sparked accidentally, according to LFR.
