Beatrice officials warn of scam involving letters asking for city council donations
BEATRICE, Neb. (KLKN) — Officials in Beatrice are sounding the alarm about a letter going around town right now. They’re calling it a scam.
Officials said in a social media post that some residents have received a letter claiming to be from the National Police Association. The letter asks people to fill out a “Quality of Life Policing Form” and then asks for a donation to be made to city council.
This organization does have a legitimate website but the letter going around Beatrice gives a false address.
City officials also said they have no connection with the National Police Association. The city’s Facebook post was also shared by Beatrice Police.
If you would like to get in touch with Beatrice city council you can make a comment on the city’s website, contact a council member directly or speak at a public forum or hearing.
