Fire causes $150,000 in damage to apartment south of downtown Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A fire caused $150,000 in damage to a Lincoln apartment building on Wednesday, according to Lincoln Fire & Rescue.

The fire was reported around 6:35 p.m. at an apartment near 10th and C streets.

When crews arrived, they saw flames and smoke coming from the top of the building, Battalion Chief Jim Bopp said.

Firefighters worked to extinguish the hot spots in the building, according to Bopp.

LFR spokeswoman MJ Lierman said the blaze caused $130,000 in damage to the structure and $20,000 to the contents inside. Lierman confirmed that there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
